Ed Young is a lifelong painter and illustrator. In the early years of his career, he served as a designer, animator, art director, and creative director at advertising agencies in Nashville, New Orleans, and Atlanta. He continues to explore new styles and media, his work often reflecting shared adventures with his wife Chandra, translating their travels into vibrant, expressive pieces.

Ed is a graduate of The Ringling School of Art & Design, where he earned honors for his work. He co-founded Young & Martin Design in Atlanta, leading the firm for three decades, earning numerous national and regional awards for creative excellence. In 2010, Ed and Chandra—also a designer—relocated to the Carolinas. During his semi-retirement, he became the lead artist at Trader Joe’s in Winston-Salem and Greensboro, where for seven years he created hand-painted signage and murals that gave each store its unique visual character.
